“I am Yasmeen Shaikh. I am 20 years old. We are four siblings. I stay at Kurla in slum locality. My father is an auto-rickshaw driver. He is the sole earning member in the family. My mother is a housewife. My father has already taken some loan for purchasing an auto-rickshaw. He finds it very difficult to fulfill basic necessities of the family. I took Shama well loan in S.Y.BMS and repaid full amount by doing part time job.

I also got help from Shama Hexagon scholarship. I stood first in class with 75%. To supplement household expenses I am working in SPRJK Trust’s Student Welfare Centre as full time junior office assistant. Currently I am pursuing T.Y.BMS.

I got help from Shama Smart Well of Rs.10,000. After completing my BMS I am planning to do job as a Finance Manager. I am very thankful to Shama Inc. for helping me to complete my education.”

My mother helps my father to make flower garlands and she is diabetic patient, currently she got operated. Her medical expense is big drain on my family income. I have two elder brothers who abandoned the family after marriage.

Now my parent’s responsibility is solely on me. I received Shama Well Loan for my higher education. I completed BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media) with 64% and I am working in SPRJK Trust’s Student Welfare Centre since two years. I have repaid the loan.

It is just because of Shama Koticha Assistance Fund that I could pay the SY BMS exam fees. I scored good marks i.e. 68%.

Now, I have taken admission in T.Y.BMS and I am very thankful to SKAF for helping me by paying my partial admission fees. I promise to score good marks in my final year.”

“I am Siddhi Wadekar. I had applied for Shama Smart Well Scholarship for 2016-17 for S.Y.B.HSc as I was not able to pay my admission fees. My father was operated for kidney problem and he had to undergo dialysis twice a week and was not able to work for six months. My mother is a housewife.

My younger brother is studying in 9th Std. My father’s medical expense was big drain on family income. At that time I had two options left – either to give up education or to take a job. I am very thankful to Shama Inc. and SPRJK Trust for helping me in my crucial condition. It is just because of your support that I stood first in class with 75% which has helped me to build self-esteem.
Currently I am pursuing T.Y.B.HSc and have paid my admission fees by taking tuition classes in vacations. My father has also started working as a ward boy in hospital.”

“I am Kavita Arun Pal. We are four family members living in a single rented room in a slum. I am eldest among three siblings. My father is a mason. He is the sole earning member in the family; my father cannot sustain the education of three children.
He has Fistula disease and was operated three times. My mother is a housewife. Currently I am studying in M.Com II. At the time of M.Com first year I took loan of Rs.4000 from Shama Well and also taken Shama loan in T.Y.B.Com which I have repaid. To supplement the family income, my siblings took up jobs. I am also working in a parlour. I am very confident and have set my goals very early in life. After completing M.Com I want to work in a bank.
